What you can expect – before & after the procedure
The Experience of having Partial Laser Resurfacing
Lisa, of Southern Sydney, underwent partial (forehead, around eyes and upper lip area) facial Co2 Laser-resurfacing after some initial re-scheduling due to a previously occurring skin infection. She is extremely pleased with the result and would gladly recommend this form of laser to anyone contemplating having the procedure.
When I went in for the initial consultation I was impressed with the other photographs and the detailed description of the whole process. I was excited and looking forward to getting it done.
I was very impressed by Dr. Roberts concern when I developed an infection before the operation. I was upset when it was postponed twice, but I was very happy that he was genuinely concerned and wasn’t there just to take my money – that’s when I believed him to be a very genuine and caring doctor towards his patients. Dr. Roberts went out of his way to reschedule me for the procedure and reassured me all the way.
He was also the only doctor that insisted on dressings and medication for the operation which to me showed he was the better doctor to go to.
On the day he explained everything to me again. I was excited and looking forward to it. During the procedure, I was comfortable but nervous. I wasn’t in pain and felt a little discomfort.
After the procedure, I was fine and didn’t feel the bandages being put on. I just wanted to go home! I thought I would have felt a lot more and would have been in a lot of pain and I was surprised I wasn’t.
During the procedure, Dr Roberts and his wonderful theatre nurse kept talking to me and reassuring me which was great.
I started feeling in pain on the way home which I had been given ice packs for. Not agonising pain but a burning feeling like very bad sunburn. I took the painkillers Dr Roberts gave me and slept well. The next morning I could see already and started using the cream which really worked.
After the bandages came off I could see the difference – I couldn’t wait to get them off so I could see the results.
My eyes had no redness or swelling under them after only five days which I was pleased with. Overall I feel a lot happier with getting it done and it was definitely worth it and I will be back next year for some more work.

Re: Wound Care after Laser Resurfacing
Diode Lightsheer Laser Hair Removal
Dear Dr Roberts
I certainly enjoyed your talks at the Australian Meeting. I would appreciate it if you would submit manuscripts on Wound Care after Laser Resurfacing and Diode Lightsheer Laser Hair Removal for publication in the International Journal of Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetic Dermatology.
I would need abstracts, colour photos, numbers of patients (male, female), complications, detailed technique and results.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

I have known Dr. A. Roberts, a cosmetic surgeon and dermatologist, since 1995. He has helped me on many occasions to perform cosmetic operations like: blepharoplasty, face and neck lifts, otoplasty, breast augmentation and reduction, rhinoplasty and many other minor cosmetic procedures.
I have seen plenty of his patients following laser-assisted: blepharoplasty, otoplasty and face S-Lifts. The results were always good, giving the patients great satisfaction.
Dr. Roberts has been practicing dermatology and performing cosmetic and laser surgery for over 25 years. He is presenting his achievements on a regular basis as an invited speaker at a number of national and international conferences.
He introduced into Australia many cosmetic techniques like: external ultrasonic liposuction with the use of the power cannula, laser otoplasty and laser S-Facelift, Botox for excessive sweating and blushing. He is the only cosmetic surgeon in Australia to have earned a Ph.D. title. He is a founding Fellow of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery.
Dr. Roberts always sacrifices his time and energy for his patients.

Dr Roberts was kind enough to allow me to watch him and to assist him during the Laser Resurfacing procedure.
I was impressed with his professional approach to the patient. She has been explained precisely and has been shown in the mirror that the whole cosmetic unit upper, lower lip and chin will be treated to achieve the best results and all three stages of healing has been explained to her including oozing, weeping, redness and possible pigmentation as a part of the recovery process.
I have had the impression that the patient fully understands the explanation and is very keen to have the procedure.

As you are probably aware, my friend Annette and I were absolutely delighted with your brilliant surgical performance for us last year. Unfortunately I don’t come to Sydney that often and I was hoping that, if possible, you might be able to recommend someone of equal calibre to yourself in Melbourne for the facial procedure and Botox Injections.
If you could do this I would be very grateful.
Thank you very much. Keep up the good work!

Restylane in her top lip and liposuction
“The lip procedure is very common. My bottom lip is very full and I wanted to pump up my top lip, making it look poutier. The lip procedure lasts six months, depending on how much your body metabolises. I work at the Cosmetic Medical Centre, so I see it done all the time and I was comfortable with it. My husband was against it. He thought I’d come out as some kind of Barbie Doll. My lip was pretty swollen for a couple days after it. It’s a cosmetic thing, like make-up. I don’t wear lipstick as it comes off, so it’s like natural makeup.
With the Liposuction, Dr. Andrew Roberts took out half a litre from the inside of my knees and around my hips. It’s a small amount. I go to the gym and I’m a size eight, but there’s pockets of fat you can’t get rid of. I didn’t need stitches. The day after I was a bit stiff, but I was walking around.
When I age I’ll probably invest my money in surgery. It’s just like paying off a couch: if it makes you feel better, it’s worth it.”

Liposuction for Male Breast Reduction
“It’s been almost 2 weeks since having a male breast reduction (liposuction) performed at Cosmetic Medical Centre and I just wanted to give you an update on where I’m at and my experience so far.
I have to admit upon my first consultation on the day after surgery I was very disappointed with what I witnessed when the bandages came off. I didn’t know what to expect and was anticipating that the majority of the results would be visible immediately after surgery – obviously this is not the care (and as you’ve advised, total changes can take up to 3 months).
However since then I have noticed my body changing every day. I have come to realise that what I was initially witnessing after surgery was predominantly swelling and bruising.
Now that the swelling is starting to subside a new body is slowly forming and I am very happy with the results thus far! I can’t wait to see the final results when all the bruising and swelling goes away completely, but if what I’ve witnessed so far is any indication then I’m sure it will be fantastic.
I just wanted to send a quick note to thank you and your staff for helping me to take the first steps in changing my life/lifestyle.
I was really impressed with the level of professionalism, empathy and care you demonstrated during and after the operation. I felt like I was in safe hands throughout the entire procedure. I was particularly impressed with the way you explained the process to me prior to surgery which meant there were no surprises.
Today is my first day back at work after taking some time off for recovery (which probably wasn’t necessary as I felt fine even after 2 days after the op), but already people have started commenting on my appearance – so thank you! I would definitely recommend your services to my friends and family.”

“I would like to thank Dr. Roberts for the amazing job he has done on my lips. He is truly an artist within his field. I am extremely happy with the outcome and will recommend his practice to all my friends.”

I am a previous patient of Dr. Roberts who now lives in Canada. I was very impressed with Dr. Roberts’ results and was wondering whether there is a doctor he could recommend for laser mole removal (what I would deem minor/light moles) in Montreal or Toronto, Canada.
I was meant to see Dr. Roberts in October but had to cancel due to a last minute change to my final destination.

I thought of writing you this email in case for one reason or other we are not able to communicate by phone as planned this morning between 7am and 8am. I want you to know that although I felt a bit nauseated yesterday after the operation, which is quite normal after such a procedure. I want to express my sincere gratitude at the magnificent, most delicate manner in which you performed the operation on me yesterday, and even attending to the detail of requesting your son’s assistance in driving me home. I went straight to bed after taking 1 Valium and had a beautiful rest until 11.30pm. I then got up and because I was over the nausea and even pretty weak, even feeling hungry, I had cereal softened with milk, a toast which I soaked on a big mug of coffee, another Valium, a pain tablet and again had a beautiful, restful sleep. It is now almost 6.30am and am feeling very well, with no trace of nausea or the slightest pain and have taken another pain tablet to prevent this.
I want to thank you and the lady who assisted you for the sensitive, professional and delicate caring manner in which you attended to me with this awesome operation. And also your patience I waiting for the right time to have me discharged. I now feel that after another good rest this morning, I will be able to resume with my computer work for the ****** I attend to especially in other countries which needs a lot of attention.
Kindly express my gratitude to your son, whom I couldn’t thank sufficiently because of my condition at that time.
“This is just a short note to thank you for your professionalism and wonderful bedside manner.
I had an Otoplasty procedure done by you on 29th October 2002 with which I am absolutely delighted with the results.
Before I contacted your surgery I did a lot of research and therefore feel educated enough to offer my fantastic opinion of your surgical skills and office procedures. Denise was very helpful and actually was the first contact I had with your surgery, encouraging me to make the initial booking and helping me to coordinate a convenient time for surgery.
I would like to mention how relieved I was by your attitude and obvious knowledge of this specialist area.
On the day of my surgery, I was quite frightened, but your calm manner put me at ease immediately! I very much appreciated you quietly talking through the procedure, as I was very happy to be aware of what was happening during the surgery.
I will eagerly recommend your surgery to anyone considering a need of this type.
Please accept my best wishes of health and happiness to you, your family and staff.”
“Thank you for your warm and caring approach and exceptional results. With sincere appreciation and warmest thanks to you.”
*Mitchell & Renee
Renee: “Thank you very much for your kind, caring manner that you showed not just to me but also my son Mitchell. Mitchell being only 12 at the time was very nervous about his operation, but you and your staff made him very relaxed and at ease.”
Mitchell: “Thank you very much Dr. Roberts. I am extremely happy with the results and am more confident.”
