Celebrating 25 Years in Business

Plastic Surgeon

Cosmetic Medical Centre is celebrating 25 years of doing business in Sydney. This is no small milestone – the name has continued to be on the market as its own against the vast level of competition.

I think it is fantastic to have accomplished this achievement and mark this milestone in a country where so many cosmetic businesses are flooding in.

I think our centre has a special place in our patients’ hearts, and has always been designed for balanced and honest views about cosmetic and dermatological problems. We do not push our patients for specific procedures, and we always try to give as many options for treatment which best suit them.

Our style at Cosmetic Medical Centre is to achieve a quite natural look and to not over treat the patients. We aim to keep our patients as happy as we possibly can, similar to how you are among close friends.

Sometimes, I have nostalgia, thinking back to the beginning 25 years ago. At the time, we had only collagen injections such as fillers and one laser for skin blemishes and broken capillaries. Majority of modern fillers did not exist; nor did Botox. Lasers such as CO2 or Erbium for resurfacing or cutting were in their infancy, and IPL, fractional or hair and tattoo removal lasers were not on the market. Other cosmetic methods such as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), High Intensity Focussed Ultrasound (HIFU), cryotherapy, ultrasound or radiofrequency were not yet developed.

Also, cosmetic surgeries were more drastic with longer periods of swelling, bruising or recovery.

We have our beauty rules and what we can offer in terms of specific procedures; but we will always advise our patients on healthy lifestyles, restriction of alcohol, as well as proper diet and exercise.

We know that sometimes we are our own worst enemies, and we can be hard on ourselves. It is important to understand and be aware of our patients’ psyche to ensure that they should be proud of themselves. Cosmetic procedures simply should increase the individual’s self-esteem. They should know that there is beauty in their personality and character as well. As they say, beauty is not only on the outside but on the inside as well.

Dr Roberts’ extended experience in both the dermatological and surgical specialties has enabled him to develop a holistic approach in the cosmetic and beauty industry. His practice is focused on achieving natural looking beauty by the application of both surgical and non-surgical skills.
