Body Contouring (Non-Surgical)
BODY CONTOURING SYSTEMS
CRYOLIPOLYSIS, RADIOFREQUENCY ULTRASOUND CAVITATION Cryolipolysis, Radiofrequency and Ultrasound Cavitation are three new, unique and non-invasive treatment options that reduce excess fatty tissue by controlled localised cooling or heating. This causes a gradual reduction of the subcutaneous fat layer without damage to the surrounding tissues to trim, tone and tighten the body and face.
Most non-surgical devices require a minimum of three treatments, several weeks apart, in order to acquire optimal results.

Frequently asked questions
How does it work?
Fatty Cells are more sensitive to cold temperatures than other cells. Fatty cells (adipocytes) are damaged by the cold and eaten (phagocytised) by other cells of your own body. The cells (neutrophils, phagocytes and macrophages) consume fat and continue to intensify their activity throughout the 30 days following a single exposure, finally resulting in a disappearance of fat as we see a reduction in the thickness of the subcutaneous fat layer.
Ultrasound Cavitation and Radiofrequency develop the thermal (heating) effect which accelerates metabolic activity and helps the production of new collagen in the fibrous layer, promoting a smoother texture in the target area.
The focused ultrasound waves are delivered in short pulses to destroy fat cells while leaving the surrounding tissue, nerves and blood vessels unaffected. During the treatment patients will experience a hot massage but no pain.
This treatment can be used on all skin types. The cavitation effect forms microbubbles that burst inside the fat cell. This energy causes the cell to implode and be destroyed causing a smoother contour surface of the skin.
Radiofrequency disrupts fat cells causing the contents of the cell to be effectively “squeezed out” and eliminated by the body’s lymphatic system. The method is able to target the correct depth beneath the skin, killing the fat cells without causing damage to the underlying layers.
How soon will I see improvement?
The average reduction of 25% of fat volume is visible in 3-6 months after treatment and patient satisfaction is greater than 70%.
Cryolipolysis can also be used to treat cellulite with long lasting results, providing the patient maintains a healthy diet and regular exercise.
The improvement is limited to the treatment area.
Are there any known side effects ?
The treatment has not produced any significant adverse side effects. Sometimes we can notice mild discomfort, redness and numbness for 1 – 2 hours.
How is the procedure performed?
A gel drape is placed onto the target area to protect the skin before the applicator head is placed over the fat pocket. The applicator acts like a vacuum, applying suction to the area to direct the cold temperature to the fat cells. Patients experience a gradual cooling sensation. Following the treatment, the target area feels stiff and cold for about 15 minutes.
Is there any “downtime” associated with this procedure?
There is no “downtime” from work or social activities associated with this procedure . Patients can resume normal activities immediately following the procedure. The session takes 40-60 minutes and is best suited to treat abdominal fat and back fat that forms on the torso, inner and outer thighs, arms or double chins.
Is the Body Contouring system right for me?
Body contouring systems do not replace liposuction and the treatment is not suited to help with obesity, nor is it most effective on patients with significant skin laxity. Cryolipolysis is best for those patients of normal weight with localised fat bulges or deposits.
Is there anything else I need to know?
All patients should have a good diet and take part in regular exercise. There is no significant reduction in body weight or in body mass index. These devices do not target visceral (inside of the abdomen) fat. The realistic expectations should be set with patients and they should be aware that multiple treatments are necessary to achieve the desired end point.
This approach can also be used following liposuction to speed up the process of healing and to achieve better, smooth, tightening of the skin. A top-up treatment is usually needed once a year, especially when aiming for skin tightening.
What is the total cost ?
The cost per session depends on the length of the procedure but is about $350-$600 per area.
