Cosmetic Injections for Facial Rejuvenation
Cosmetic Injections for Wrinkles Injections and Excessive Sweating
As we age, deep lines and wrinkles develop on the face due to gravity (vertical and sleep lines), muscular action (lines of facial expression) and sun damage. The way our skin looks is directly related to the way you skin is relaxed. Wrinkles are lines on the face which reflect ageing and they can express emotions. Fine wrinkling on the upper lip, cheeks and crow’s feet area are a signal of ageing, whereas wrinkling in the forehead is associated with anger, anxiety and sadness – all “negative” emotions. An ideal cosmetic procedure is one that produces dramatic benefits, has few side effects and is reversible. Cosmetic/ Wrinkle injections fit most of these criteria. These injections have been used for decades in children and adults to improve the problem of muscle spasm of the facial muscles. Cosmetic injections are also useful to correct double vision due to muscle imbalance, tension headaches and excessive sweating.

Frequently asked questions
How do Cosmetic/wrinkle Injections Work?
This is a semi-permanent treatment which temporarily relaxes the muscles that are over contracted and cause deep lines. Dr. Roberts introduced cosmetic or wrinkle injections to Australia as a routine therapy in 1995.
Which part of the face can be treated with Cosmetic/ Wrinkle Injections?
The muscles of facial expression are injected. The selective relaxation of muscles will smooth wrinkling in the forehead, frown lines, crow’s feet and smoker’s lines, and can improve the appearance of the face and neck.
What are “crow’s feet” and how do cosmetic/ wrinkle injections help diminish them?
Crow’s feet are well established, deep, radiating horizontal and oblique furrows at the outer aspect of each eye, caused by the squeezing actions of the muscles. The prevention of contraction of the muscles by cosmetic injections effectively causes these lines to disappear.
Why use Cosmetic/Wrinkle Injections instead of Laser Resurfacing or filler?
Each of the above treatments have their own specific advantages. It depends on the depth of the lines and how the lines are formed. Dr. Roberts will suggest the best treatment for you.
How effective is it?
All patients get results. Most people can expect 75-95% improvement in the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
How long does it last?
The injection remains effective from 2 to 5 months or longer, depending on the patient. Once the result of one set of injections begins to diminish, it is then time to make another appointment for your next series of injections. In this way cumulative semi-permanent effect can be effective and noticeable over time.
Possible complications or side effects?
Only 1% of patients have minor side effects, which may include bruising, temporary partial loss of function of muscles in the area of injection. However the incidence of problems arising is extremely rare.
How much does it cost?
Cosmetic Injections for Wrinkles
The cost is about $11 per unit. The average price is about $350 for the forehead and $200 for crow’s feet.
How Long Does this Procedure Take?
Wrinkle injections require only about 15 minutes to perform.
Cosmetic/ Wrinkle injection Recovery Time
There is no recovery time associated with cosmetic injections for wrinkle removal.
Can Insurance Cover Cosmetic/ Wrinkle injections?
Due to the cosmetic nature of this procedure, insurance does not apply.
