What is cellulite?
Cellulite is the lumpy appearance of the skin on the thighs caused
by the superficial bulging of fat cells between fibrous bands.
How is cellulolipolysis done?
It is performed by placing a series of thin needles (similar to
those used in acupuncture) into the area, and passing electric pulses
through them. This breaks up the fatty tissue and speeds up the
metabolic rate of cells.
Is it painful?
There is a small amount of discomfort when the needles are
inserted, however this only lasts a second.
Do I need to change my diet?
You will be asked to follow a healthy diet while undergoing
treatment. This involves eating plenty of fruit and vegetables and decreasing your fat intake. It is also important to increase your physical activity and introduce regular exercise.
What do you need pathology tests for?
The pathology tests are needed to ascertain your existing metabolic rate and salt and water balance. The results are necessary to select the correct treatment plan
for you.
Can I exercise while I'm having treatment?
You should continue on your normal exercise plan, exercise is good
for you.
Will the cellulite come back?
The treatment gives you a fresh start. You should try to maintain
this through exercise and the correct diet. You may need two or three
treatments after a year to maintain correction, this is entirely up to
you.
What other methods are available?
Cellulolipolysis can be combined with Carboxytherapy (see Carboxytherapy FAQ).
How much does it cost?
The initial consultation is $80, more than half of which is
rebatable through Medicare. Your first treatment is $360. This covers
the pathology and chemistry analysis, cellulolipolysis needle series,
protein start, and the treatment. Treatments 2 - 6 are $120, decreasing
to $100 afterwards.
